Being told you are going ... Show More The Virgin birth is an important part of History as it makes Jesus fully man and fully God. For Mary, it must have been confusing and scary and exciting all at the same time. Being told you are going to have a baby by the Holy Spirit just doesn’t happen everyday. Certainly with this news you would have to choose carefully who to speak to and who to trust with this kind of information. God had given Elizabeth a similar experience not long before this happened. When Mary was visited by an angel being told that she was going to have a baby through the Holy Spirit coming upon her and making her pregnant, she knew straight away she had to talk to Elizabeth. If she had spoken to other people she may have been ridiculed, slandered and rejected, for it was a wild story to believe. The angel guided her to Elizabeth and she listened and obeyed. When it comes to friends and mentors, it makes all the difference in the world when you find the right people. Her time with Elizabeth would have been really important preparation for returning home and facing her future with Joseph, family and friends.
