He spoke in a way that captivated them. In ... Show More When Jesus begins teaching the people, he turns their views up side down. It is the longest sermon in the Gospels. But even so, he did not bore the people. He spoke in a way that captivated them. In a very simple way, Jesus talked to people about how to live as a Christian and what should be important in life. He knew what would please God and He quoted from the Old Testament which people of the time would have already known. He defined and refined the teaching, in a way that everyone could understand. This is how God wants us to be, to be able to instruct and guide people when they ask and to know for ourselves how God wants us to live. We cannot know this unless we are familiar with God’s Words in the Bible.
