Show More Although this is a pretty scary story in terms of the consequences, it is important in this generation to be stronger about the fact that we can’t serve two masters. We live in a world that teaches our children to look out for number one, to be their own God, and to strive to get what they want out of life, no matter what the cost. Annanias and Sapphira thought they could serve God and themselves and soon discovered that they couldn’t fool God. God is supernatural and is to be feared as well as followed. There are many fearful things our children are seeing on TV all the time and there are evil consequences happening all the time. For Annanias and Sapphira it was money and possessions that they couldn’t part with. For each person it is something different. But one thing is for sure, whoever you serve, Good or Evil, there will be a cost. The Bible says in verse 11 that fear seized the whole Church, and there’s no doubt that the church was very effective in those days. Maybe the body of Christ today needs a little shake up about how we are to serve God completely. We certainly need to challenge the next generation to choose to follow Him with everything they have.
