Seeing the Possibilities

Aim: To teach that a true hero is able to see some "good" in anything that happens.

Show More This is a very sad story of God's people not seeing the possible after all that God had brought them through since they had left Egypt. Their negative view on the situation had such a huge effect on the rest of their lives. They had gone from a people who God delivered from a life of slavery to freedom and yet they were begging someone to take them back to the slavery they had left. When 12 men were asked to go and explore Caanan and see what the people and the land was like, 10 men came back fearful that they could not beat the people, but 2 men came back believing that with God on their side even though the people were strong they could take the land. It was at this point that their destiny was made. Because of their lack of faith and seeing the possible God said that they were to wander the dessert for forty years and that only the two men who saw the possibilities would see the Promised Land. When you think that the whole reason they left Egypt was to go to the Promised Land and only two made it, it is very sad. Yet, it is so similar to many people in life who miss out on so much in life because they spend their time grumbling and complaining about what they don't have and can't see the possibility of what could be.
