Judges 3-4 / 2 Chron 10-36
The book of Judges covers a time in History when leadership was scattered and there was much division. There were 12 Judges, and as we look at their reigns as leaders of the nations, it was a depressing time. There is assassination, worship of other gods, sexual promiscuity, cruel revenge and broken promises. Whenever they repented and turned to God he always forgave and chose to continue to use them as leaders. God’s gang of the time kept turning from God and doing their own thing, getting caught up with false gods. They kept losing focus. It was the same with many of the Kings in 2 Chronicles 10 - 36. 2 Chronicles 10-36 shows what happens when we take our eyes off the Leader (God) and lose focus. It is a key to not falling or getting into so much trouble. It is good to look throughout History and learn from their mistakes in the hope that we will learn before we fall too far ourselves.
