What is the Mission

This resource provides you with a lesson plan, songs, group challenges, drama and a life application. You will be provided with extra materials, videos, power point presentations to help you present this message to the children in a professional and contemporary way. There is the option of teaching all the 10 lessons that build upon each other or teaching a one off stand alone lesson. Choose the resources that best suit your situation

Aim: To teach the children that Jesus had a specific mission while he was here on this earth.

Bible Text: Matthew 26-27 / Luke 23 / John 20 / Mark 16

Show More The four Gospels bring out different aspects of the Gospel story and present characters that were involved with Jesus in those final days. To get a good broad picture we need to look at the four Gospels. In Matthew, the Chief Priests had very little humanity or morality. They have an agenda to see Jesus killed and they will do anything to see that happen. Mark 16 looks at the women going to the tomb and finding the empty tomb, which is vital to the salvation story. Luke 23 talks about the two criminals on either side of Jesus during crucifixion. John 20 talks of the spear in Jesus’ side and the breaking of His legs, which they did to hasten His death. All the Gospels bring pieces of the entire story, never contradicting each other but with each having its own flavour.

You Will Need: FOR TEACHING TIME: A set for the drama which has a LAB with gadgets all over the table and a box to the side, 2 gadgets, Invitation to be a part of the mission, Narrator (HQ), Large Cross, Crown of Thorns, Sign : “King of the Jews” , Huge Hammer , Two pieces of material with red stains on them, Spear, Huge Cardboard Stone, Perfume Jar, Door, Prizes.
