Show More Jonah was a prophet, which means that he was a part of the family of God and was serving him preaching and speaking God's promises to people everywhere. He listened to God often and followed what He asked. Often we think that we know better so when God asks us to do something that we can’t see is possible we try to ignore it. But God's plans are flawless and his plan is the best for us. Sometimes we have to learn the hard way. When Jonah finally did what God asked him to, many people came to love God. As Christians, many struggle with finding God's will and sometimes instead of listening to God we do what we think is the right thing. The wonderful thing is that whether we step out of God's will unknowingly or deliberately God never leaves us and when we find ourselves in the belly of a whale, and cry out to him, he will answer and guide us back to the right path. It is also a reminder that God is not a rational God who asks us to do things that will always make to sense to the worldly mind, and even more it is not for us to question. We must aim to stay faithful to the task that God calls us to, that's all he asks of us.

You Will Need: TEACHING TIME: Photocopy Memory Verse for each group, Professor Character and Head character for the Drama and props for drama, Signposts: Saying "God's way", "My Way", Make a boat out of chairs or toy boat, Baby's pool with a little water or hidden sprinkler, wind noise from leaders, Pillows, Slippery Dip, Dark room - with a torch and/or candles, Stringy Spray or party popper.
